Just Another Day in September

By Charles McCaffrey

History and cultures
met with explosive force
high above the world
on a bright September morning

Steel and glass
lives and illusions
shattered in the blink of an eye

And in the aftermath
investigations
legislations
invasions

Must defend
must avenge

And another generation
of damaged youth
physically
mentally
emotionally

Charles McCaffrey is a Navy Veteran; and an avid storyteller and writer. As a kid, he always had paper and a box of crayons; drawing people, places and things both real and imagined. McCaffrey still carries a pen and notebook with him everywhere he goes. His work is greatly influenced by his time in the military; and reflects images and impressions of the places he visited and the experiences he had during his travels.
